Zina of the eyes punishment

Eyes are one of the blessings given by Almighty Allah. Good deeds can be done by this eye as well as Zina can be done by it. Both reward and punishment are possible through eyes.

As Allah Ta’ala says, “Did I not give him (as a blessing) two eyes?” (Surah Al-Balad: 8). The eyes are a great blessing from Allah; Only those without eyes can understand. Through these eyes, we see the beauty of creation and through these eyes, the believers in Paradise will see Allah Ta’ala directly.

Quranic verses regarding eye Zina

As God has given the eye as a blessing, He has set some boundaries and restrictions for it. As Allah Ta’ala says, “O Prophet! Tell the believing men to restrain their gaze and guard their private parts. It is a more sacred method for them. Allah knows what they do” (Surah An-Noor: 30).

“And O Prophet! Tell the believing women to restrain their gaze and guard their private parts. And without showing their adornment which is self-evident. And let them cover their chests with the folds of their veils” (Surah An-Noor: 31).

Explanation of the Quranic verses

  1. They will restrain their eyes.
  2. They will guard their private parts.
In the second verse, Mu’min enjoins these two provisions on women, making a total of four provisions.
  3. They will restrain their eyes.
  4. They will guard their private parts.
  5. They will not reveal their beauty.
  6. They shall cover their bosoms.

The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Zina will take place from house to house before the Day of Judgment (which will become widespread) and Allah will test every child of Adam with the test of Zina.”

In this regard, the Prophet (peace be upon him) also said, “Allah Ta’ala has prescribed a portion of fornication on the children of Adam, and Allah Ta’ala will surely test every child of Adam with the test of Zina” (Sahih Bukhari).
As evidenced by the hadith, Allah Ta’ala will test every child of Adam at least once in his life with the test of Zina.

Zina of the eyes punishment

Punishment of eyes Zina is of two types. One is in this life, the other is in the hereafter. In today’s common eyes, the punishment for Zina is disturbance in the mind, social disorder, prayer not being accepted, defilement of the heart, loss of spiritual purity, etc.

And in the Hereafter what will be the punishment of adultery of the eyes will be determined by Allah Subhan wa Ta’ala. He will forgive His servants if He will. Or if He wills, He will punish the eye-roller. Eye jina is a form of obscenity. In the Holy Qur’an, Allah Ta’ala says, there is a severe punishment for those who want to spread obscenity among the believers.

Zina is basically of two types. Zina literally and Zina figuratively. Regarding the punishment for the first type of adultery, Allah Almighty says, “Give each adulterer and adulterer a hundred lashes” (Surah An-Noor: 2).

In this regard, the incident of Mayez Ibn Malek’s repentance is significant. One day when the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was sitting with his Companions, Mayez Ibn Malek (RA) came and requested the Messenger (PBUH) to punish him for adultery.

After repeated requests, the Prophet (PBUH) ordered the companions to apply the punishment of Zina on her. A few days later, the Prophet (PBUH) visited the grave of Hazrat Mayez Ibn Malek with his companions.

At the end of the pilgrimage, the Prophet (PBUH) addressed the Companions and said that Allah accepted the repentance of Mayez Ibn Malek in such a way that if it had been distributed to any cursed nation, then Allah would have forgiven the entire nation.

There are other types of zina like eye Zina

Allah Ta’ala says, “Do not go to fornication, for it is a very bad deed and a very abominable way” (Surah Bani Israel: 32).

  1. Fornication of the eyes: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Fornication of the eyes is to look at a prostitute with evil eyes and to see forbidden things.” Rasool (PBUH) also said, “Whoever looks at a prostitute with evil eyes will have glass melted between his eyes.”
  2. Zina of the ear: If we are attracted to someone after listening to him or after talking to someone then I am doing zina of the ear. Because the Prophet (PBUH) said, “The pleasure of the ear is to hear.”
  3. Fornication of the mouth: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Fornication of the mouth is speaking obscenities with the mouth.” We who are talking to prostitutes day after day, night after night, hours after hours on the mobile phone, are committing oral zina in the words of Rasool.
  4. Zina of the hand: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Zina of the hand is to touch something forbidden by Allah.”
  5. Fornication on foot: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Fornication on foot is going to commit adultery on foot.”
  6. The sexual intercourse of the soul: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “The sexual intercourse of the soul is to imagine.” If after performing the jina of the eyes, it is imagined with the heart, it is the jina of the heart. Regarding this, Allah Ta’ala said, “And whoever feared to stand before the Lord and restrained his soul from evil desires, his abode will be Paradise” (Surah An-Naziyat: 40-41).

Ways to protect yourself from Zina of the Eyes punishment

It is possible to avoid the punishment of eye Zina if we keep our eyes restrained in as many places as we walk.

  • Family: Many of us live in joint families. There we adhere to the screen or not? For example, in the family, do we follow the veil with cousins, cousins, aunts, and cousins? If not, we will face severe punishment.

In this regard, the Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whether it is in times of danger or in times of joy, you must veil yourself from a mahram doctor, the people of your in-law’s house, and even a blind person” (Sahih Bukhari, Muslim).

  • Society: How we deal with colleagues and classmates as we go about our daily lives in society, at work or in educational institutions; There is a need to consider whether or not the issue of the screen is important.

Regarding this, Rasul (PBUH) said to Ali (RA), “O Ali, do not give a second glance after one glance, because the first glance is forgiven, the second glance is not forgiven” (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi).

On the authority of Jarir Ibn Abdullah. He said, “When I asked the Prophet about sudden visions, he said, “Return your sight” (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi).

  • Mobile: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “A time will come when fornication will be committed from house to house.” I think now it is not just house-to-house fornication but room-to-room. Because Allah Ta’ala is aware of what we are seeing and who we are talking to through the mobile sets we have in our hands.

Through the pornographic pictures or videos we watch on mobile or the internet, we are doing eye Zina. I am doing oral and ear Zina through my mobile phone where I am talking to Muhrim for hours.

Summary

If we can control our eyes then Rasool (PBUH) will be the guardian of our Paradise. As narrated by Ubadah Ibn Samet (RA) in the hadith. He said Rasool (PBUH) said, “You assure me of six things, I will assure you of Jannah.

  1. When you speak, speak the truth.
  2. When you make a promise, you will fulfil it.
  3. You will deliver the deposit to the right place. 4. You will keep your hands in check.
  4. You shall restrain your eyes.
  5. You will protect your private parts.

Muhaddiseen have said in the interpretation of this hadith, that it is certainty in exchange for certainty, perfection in exchange for perfection. That is, those who will guarantee these six things to Rasul (S.A.), Rasul (S.A.) will guarantee Paradise to them.
